Before joining our team, Chris spent ten years as a “one man band” television reporter/photographer in Iowa, Georgia and (most recently) Raleigh, North Carolina. He learned about SEM while doing several stories about some of our projects and accomplishments, and says that gave him a great insight to the team, and helped him decide to change careers.

At SEM, Chris handles media inquiries, contributes to southern-energy.com, shoots and edits videos, and helps oversee The Smart Energy Exchange, to name a few things. “I love the fact that I get to promote a company that’s doing some good in the world, and not only that, but they’re doing it the right way from a business perspective,” Chris says.

A die-hard Gators fan, Chris graduated from the University of Florida with a broadcast journalism degree. When he’s not working, he enjoys exploring the trails around Umstead State Park or Lake Crabtree. He also loves to see live music and brews his own beer.
